The Need

Currently, there are only seven inpatient hospice centers in the entire country. Many cancer patients in Kenya must travel up to 600 km to access treatment. Each year, an estimated 47,737 new cases of cancer are reported in Kenya, with 29,737 deaths annually—approximately 80 deaths per day. This highlights the urgent need for accessible, quality compassionate hospice and palliative care.
